My name is Claire Kent and I am the Year 1 Teacher at Roundwood School. I have been a teacher for 18 years and in that time have taught in the Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2.

I feel extremely privileged to be able to do this job. I work closely with other staff at school to make the transition to Key Stage 1 as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I love working with young children and having the opportunity to develop children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn.

I am the Senior Teacher at Tingewick. In this role I oversee the day to day organisation of the infant site. I am the Maths coordinator and work closely with the other members of staff to improve the teaching and learning of maths across the school. I am committed to developing outside learning at the school and making learning purposeful and relevant. I am very excited to be leading the development of our school allotment and developing links with the local community. I also facilitate the School Council for the Infant Site.

I think that Roundwood is a fantastic school and have therefore chosen to send my two children to the school despite living out of the school catchment area. I am an active member of the Friends of Roundwood School Association, both as a teacher and a parent, supporting them to raise money and organise events.
